RecompFit Privacy Policy

Last Updated: May 2026

Overview

RecompFit ("the App") is a body recomposition tracking app designed for users on GLP-1 weight management medications. Your privacy is critically important to us. This policy explains what data the App handles, how it is used, what is sent off your device, and your rights.

Apple Health (HealthKit) Data

With your permission, RecompFit both reads data from and writes data to Apple Health. You grant — and can revoke — these permissions in the Apple Health app.

Data RecompFit writes

When you log a meal, water, or a workout inside RecompFit, the App writes that entry back to Apple Health so your Health and Fitness data reflects what you logged here. This is why RecompFit requests write access in addition to read access.

Data TypeWhen it is written
Dietary Energy, Protein, Carbohydrates, Total Fat, Fiber, Sugar, Sodium, and Saturated FatWhen you save a logged meal
Dietary WaterWhen you log water
Workouts (including heart-rate and active-energy samples)When you finish a live workout or log a past workout

You can turn Apple Health read and write access on or off at any time — see "Your Control" below.

Where Your Data Is Stored

All Apple Health data, manual entries (DEXA scans, InBody scans, GLP-1 doses, symptoms, body measurements), journal entries, and your user profile are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

RecompFit does not operate a server that stores your health data. Some features do send specific data to third-party services in order to work — for example, AI coaching, meal-photo analysis, and food search. Exactly what is sent, and to whom, is described in the next section. The developer of RecompFit does not retain that data.

Data Sent to Third-Party Services

Most of RecompFit runs entirely on your device. A few features send specific data off your device to third-party services so they can work. Each one is triggered only by an action you take. Network requests travel over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection and are routed through a backend proxy that forwards them without storing your data.

AI coaching check-ins — sent to Anthropic

When you start a weekly or daily AI check-in, anonymized health metrics — nutrition totals, workout summaries, and weight and body-composition numbers — are sent to Anthropic (the Claude AI service) to generate your coaching response. These check-in payloads do not include your name, email address, device identifiers, Apple ID, or location. You can use RecompFit without ever starting an AI check-in.

Meal photo analysis — sent to Anthropic

If you log a meal by photo, the photograph you take or select is sent to Anthropic to estimate the foods and nutrition it contains. A photo is content you choose, and RecompFit cannot edit it before analysis — please avoid including faces, documents, screens, or other identifying information in meal photos. This feature runs only when you choose the photo-meal option.

Food and barcode search — sent to Edamam, Open Food Facts, and Anthropic

When you search for a food by name or barcode, the text or barcode number you enter is sent to food-database providers — Edamam and Open Food Facts — and, if neither recognizes the item, to Anthropic for an AI estimate. These queries contain only what you type or scan.

How these third parties handle your data

Data sent for AI processing is used to produce the result you requested and is not retained by the developer of RecompFit. Each third party processes data under its own privacy and data-retention terms, which you can review on its website:

Food product information shown in search results is provided in part by Open Food Facts, used under the Open Database License (ODbL).
